Some political perspective

I tried to remain relatively quiet on the political front when dealing with social media. I'm not sure if I succeeded in that venture, but I know that I was far LESS outspoken than I was in '04 and '08. Kudos to all of you. I don't care how you voted or whether you voted. You exercised your right as an American in any case. I respect everyone's decisions no matter if I disagree with your politics. If you are angry or disappointed with the outcome of the election - use this time to keep yourself informed. Learn the fact and search multiple sources - don't rely solely on FOX News or MSNBC for information. Don't become entrenched in a party's ideology. Most of all, please don't wish for the president to fail so that you can have your "I told you so" moment for everyone who voted for him. Hope that he proves you wrong. If I could do that for Bush, you can do it for Obama.

If you voted for the "lesser of two evils" or voted AGAINST one candidate instead for FOR the other, research a 3rd party and give them your time and support. That's the only way anything will change.

On a personal note, I'm not a Libertarian and I didn't have enough exposure, other than lip-service, to the Green Party's platform. Last night, when I was filling out my ballot, when I REALLY thought about it, I felt like I was lot better off than I was 4 years ago. Before anyone brings up the deficit - presidents, Republican or Democrat, will spend and add to it. Remember that. It's just how one supports the allocation of these funds.

We'll be alright. *steps off soapbox*
